What is the new pilot scheme for contract agents with disabilities?

The pilot scheme allows persons with recognised disabilities to register in a new database and to express their interest in working as a contract agent in the Council.

In line with our diversity and inclusion strategy 2030, we want to increase employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and build a more diverse and balanced workforce, with equal opportunities for career development.

Our pilot scheme will run for two years. Once a year, a general call for expressions of interest will be published, inviting eligible candidates to register in our database.

The scheme provides for the recruitment of up to three persons with disabilities each year. Their contracts will have a duration of one year.

The new database of candidates with disabilities will co-exist alongside other databases for contract agents, e.g. the CAST P database, which is run by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and which is used by all EU institutions to select contract staff. The new scheme creates a separate database for candidates with disabilities who fulfil the eligibility criteria. It can also be used to recruit contract agents outside the scheme for contract agents with disabilities.
